I finished.
It was a tuff event. With deep ruts, big hills, long STs and the sections times were tight.
Even the moderns finding it hard going.
About 5 hours for 3 days then 1 hour to the final MX. I will have more photos soon.

The A4DE follows the same rules as the ISDE. The vintage class started after the last of 250 modern bikes and was timed to return back to the work area before the moderns.
First the weather. It was hot! Hot and dry, thankfully it cooled considerably for the 130Km 5Hr day one.
Deep dust ruts, big hills lots of single trail and some very rough STs. Had a big off in one of the STs
All up I lost 10Mins for the day. Bike was still going well, my only bike problem was it just wasn't fast enough on the road. Just an air filter in the 15 work period. It was a day to tell me they were not letting us off and it was going to get harder.

Day 2: This day was a shorter 100ks 4Hrs I lined up at the cold start stabbed the kick starter, Started first kick again. On the ride out it was sad to see Geoff Ballard coming back on his Maico with a broken gearbox.
The days ride was good with some long STs and some really tight tracks. A lot of todays track were used in the 92 ISDE
Work period, oil change and air filter, if only it was that simple I found the muffler just hanging on and when I went to remove the air filter one of the springs that hold the filter had pulled out of the base. all I could do is remove the broken rubber mount and work out how I was going to drill a new hole for the air filter spring the next day. Into Parc ferme where each day I was welcomed by a legend of the sport Frank Harkness.
Back to camp to sort out the tools I need to fix the issues the bike has and to hydrate for what I knew was going to be a hard day 3.
