did you went there as a pilot?

No I did not ride.
We had to pack the bike like that to fly them from Australia.
I am in this photo with the Australian jacket and hat.

This is Geoff Ballard, He rode a KDX200 in the 250 class and won a gold medel. He is still racing and has about 20 ISDE medals
